Michel AUDIARD (1920–1985) The Tree of Dialogue, 1978 Original ink drawing Signed in ink On paper, 24 x 15.5 cm PROVENANCE: This drawing comes from the personal collection of Pierre Lhoste. A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the celebrities he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Michel Audiard was a French screenwriter, dialogue writer, and director. He wrote the dialogue for cult films such as *Les Tontons flingueurs* (1963) and *Le Professionnel* (1981). Notably, he received the César Award for Best Screenplay for *Garde à vue* in 1982. Very good condition; edges of the page are slightly damaged and yellowed.
