A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thereby creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Jean Décarreaux was a French historian and writer specializing in the history of monasticism and religious institutions in the West. He is the author of works such as *Monks and Civilization in the West: From the Invasions to Charlemagne*.
