A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Jean Ferniot was a French journalist, writer, and columnist. Active in the Resistance during World War II, he went on to pursue a distinguished career in print media and radio, notably at France Inter and L’Express. A successful novelist, he published works marked by social and political observations of his time, including *L’Ombre portée* and *Les Roses de Verdun*.
