A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thereby creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Max-Pol Fouchet was a French poet, writer, art critic, television personality, and ethnologist. In 1939, he founded the magazine *Fontaine* in Algiers, became one of the pioneers of cultural television in France (with programs such as *Terre des Arts*), and published numerous works on poetry, travel, and art.
