A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a family tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Joseph Valynseele was a French historian and genealogist, specializing in noble houses, Napoleonic dynasties, and the genealogy of the elite. He published numerous important works, such as *The Marshals of the First Empire, Their Families, and Their Descendants* (1957), *The Pretenders to the Thrones of Europe* (1967), and *Genealogy: History and Practice* (1991).
