Good condition of the 6 plates, with traces of a staple hole on the left side. Includes 5 plates of "Constructions Moyen Format", Imagerie Marcel Vagné, Jarville-Nancy, 30 x 40.5 cm : number 331 "Maison Turque", very slight pitting on "Maison" ; number 332 "Pavillon de chasse" marking "50" inked at top; number 33 "Band saw"; number 339 "Grande Ménagerie"; Number 343 "Turkish Bazaar". Good condition of the 5 plates with slight traces of a staple hole on the left side. The importance of the Pellerin dynasty is underscored here, as printing evolved from xylography (under Jean Claude Pellerin) to stereotype (under Nicolas Pellerin) to lithography (under Charles Pellerin), and finally to chromolithography under Georges Pellerin. We can thus say with Anatole France (in Le livre de mon ami): "I owe a lot to the images of Epinal". But Epinal is not the only Lorraine town to have had its own imagery. Even if the Spinal factory retains all its originality, there were also image factories in Metz, Pont-à-Mousson and Nancy. We've demonstrated this here, presenting images from Epinal as well as Nancy. East: €20-30.
