Historical background:
Founded in 1733 as an earthenware factory by Vernonet under the protection of the Duc d'Orléans, the Manufacture de Boissettes became a porcelain factory in 1776. It ceased operations in 1781, however, due to a lack of profitability. Despite its short existence, it left a legacy of rare, highly refined porcelain to 18th-century connoisseurs.
