A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thereby creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Henri Amouroux was a French journalist, historian, and writer, a recognized expert on World War II and Vichy France. He is best known for his monumental series *La Grande Histoire des Français sous l’Occupation* (The Great History of the French Under the Occupation), published between 1976 and 1993. A contributor to *Sud Ouest* and *France Inter*, he combined historical rigor with a talent for storytelling to make the dramas and dilemmas of this period accessible to readers.
