A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thereby creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Raymond Bellour is a French film critic, visual theorist, and writer. He has been a research director emeritus at the CNRS since 1964, founder of the journal *Trafic* (1991), and co-curator of the exhibition “Passages de l’image” (1989–90) at the Centre Pompidou.
