A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: François Billetdoux was a French actor and director. He served as president of the Société des gens de lettres in 1972 and was a member of the Council for Cultural Development. He wrote famous plays such as *Tchin-Tchin*, *Silence, l’arbre remue encore*, and *La Nostalgie, camarade*.
