Henri BOSCO (1888–1976) The Star in the Night, 1970 Original ink drawing Unsigned On paper, 24 x 15.5 cm PROVENANCE: This drawing comes from the personal collection of Pierre Lhoste. A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Henri Bosco was a French novelist and poet. His work, imbued with mysticism and lyricism, celebrates Provence and the connection between humanity and nature. The author of novels such as *L’Enfant et la rivière*, *Le Mas Théotime*, and *Malicroix*, he received the Grand Prix national des lettres in 1955 and was a member of the Académie de Marseille. Another ink drawing on the reverse side of the work (see photo).
