A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thereby creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Jeanne Bourin was a French novelist and historian, known for her medieval historical novels that combined documentary rigor with a romantic sensibility. Her most famous work, *La Chambre des dames* (1979), was a huge popular success and was adapted for television. She helped shed new light on daily life in the Middle Ages through a feminine and humanistic perspective.
