A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thereby creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Régis Boyer was a French scholar, writer, translator, and historian. A renowned specialist in Scandinavian and Viking studies, he was a professor of Nordic literature and civilization at the Sorbonne. He translated into French numerous major texts of Norse mythology, notably *The Poetic Edda*, *The Icelandic Sagas*, and works by Ibsen. As the author of essays such as *The Vikings: History and Civilization* and *The Religion of the Ancient Scandinavians*, he played a major role in promoting Nordic culture in France.
