PROVENANCE: This drawing comes from the personal collection of Pierre Lhoste. A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews.
INFORMATION: Abbé Georges Combaluzier was a French clergyman, astrologer, and author. As the founder of the *Revue astrologique* and the *Institut d’astrologie* in Paris, he played an important role in the modern dissemination of scientific astrology in France after World War II. He wrote several reference works on the zodiac, astrological houses, and planetary aspects.
