Albert DELAUNAY (1910–1993) The Tree in a Triangle, ca. 1970 Original ink drawing Signed in ink On paper, 24 x 15.5 cm PROVENANCE: This drawing comes from the personal collection of Pierre Lhoste. A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Albert Delaunay was a French biologist and immunologist. He was a professor at the Pasteur Institute and the École Normale Supérieure in Fontenay-aux-Roses. He headed the Department of Experimental Pathology at the Pasteur Institute from 1939 to 1974 and published numerous popular science and research works.
