A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the celebrities he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Caroline Delteil was an American impresario and socialite who founded the Revue Nègre in Paris in 1925, which launched the career of Josephine Baker. She married the writer Joseph Delteil, settled with him at the Tuilerie de Massane near Montpellier, and socialized with numerous artists and writers (notably Henry Miller and Pierre Soulages).
