A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Lucie Faure was a French novelist, literary critic, and politician. The wife of Edgar Faure, she pursued an independent literary career, writing novels and essays marked by a humanistic sensibility. She also played an active role in postwar French cultural and social life.
