Roger IKOR (1912–1986) Trees in the Meadow, ca. 1972 Original ink drawing Signed in ink On paper, 24 x 15.5 cm PROVENANCE: This drawing comes from the personal collection of Pierre Lhoste. A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thereby creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Roger Ikor was a French writer and professor. Winner of the 1955 Prix Goncourt for *Les eaux mêlées*, he devoted much of his work to exploring Jewish identity and the moral dilemmas of the 20th century. He also taught philosophy and edited literary series.
