A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thereby creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Françoise Mallet-Joris was a French-language Belgian novelist and essayist. She rose to prominence in 1951 with *Le Rempart des Béguines* and explored themes of identity, passion, and women’s freedom in her work. A member of the Académie Goncourt for over thirty years, she was also a prominent figure in Francophone literary life. Her style, both sensitive and daring, earned her widespread international recognition.
