A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Robert Laffont was a French publisher and man of letters who founded the Robert Laffont publishing house in 1941, leaving a profound mark on the French literary landscape. A visionary, he published both popular authors and contemporary thinkers, helping to democratize access to knowledge and culture. His catalog includes such prominent names as Julien Green, Dominique Lapierre, and Françoise Sagan.
