A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the prominent figures he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Robert Marjolin was a French economist and politician, the first Secretary-General of the European Organization for Economic Cooperation in 1948, and later European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs.
