Jean NOHAIN (1900–1981) A Small Tree, 1972 Original ink drawing Signed in ink On paper, 24 x 15.5 cm PROVENANCE: This drawing comes from the personal collection of Pierre Lhoste. A radio journalist, Pierre Lhoste (1913–1984) asked the guests he interviewed to provide an autograph accompanied by a drawing of a tree, thus creating a unique record of his interviews. INFORMATION: Jean Nohain, whose real name was Jean-Marie Legrand, was a French television host, lyricist, and media personality. He was notably the author of popular songs such as “Puisque vous partez en voyage,” a pioneer in radio and later in television; he created and hosted the iconic television show *36 Chandelles* (1952–58) on RTF. Very good condition; edges of the page are slightly damaged and yellowed.
